Teachers
More than any other group of people in a position to support the needs of young people, teachers are the most important factor for determining whether students do well in — and like going to — school. Teachers create the daily context for every student’s experience, in all areas of school.
As a teacher, you are the primary link between curriculum and learning, school and home, the present and the future, as you teach, coach, model and live the Five Freedoms through your relationships with your students, their families, your colleagues, and the community.
How do the Five Freedoms affect you, your teaching, and your relationships with your students and their families? What are your challenges? Your successes? What difficulties do you experience as you try to help young people discover the power and uniqueness of their own voices? What success stories do you want to share with others?
