Mary Kennerly

First Amendment School Innovator

Mary Kennerly has been educating -- and empowering -- young people in Columbia, South Carolina for the duration of her distinguished career. Currently a master Social Studies teacher for her district, Mary was the principal at Nursery Road Elementary School when it attracted national attention for its work as a First Amendment School. Her personal motto? "Always learn more."
